Easy instant tent with great porch and ventilation

5 out of 5 stars

Easy instant tent with great porch and ventilation
The AOPEC Pop Up Camping Tent (2/4/6 person) is impressively simple to set up—literally a “take it out, unstrap, and it pops open” process that takes just about a second. For casual camping, beach days, or backyard overnights, that instant setup is a big advantage, especially if you don’t want to wrestle with traditional poles and sleeves or are camping with kids or beginners. Folding it back using the recommended “8” shape method is straightforward once you’ve done it a couple of times. The waterproofing and overall weather protection are solid for light to moderate rain, thanks to the upgraded PU4500mm coating, heat-sealed seams, and fiberglass frame with reinforced pegs and guylines. Ventilation is a strong point: two front doors and two side mesh windows allow nice cross-breeze while keeping insects out, which makes it much more comfortable in warmer conditions. The interior space is generous for the stated capacity, with enough room for sleeping bags, small air mattresses, and gear, and the unique front porch area is genuinely useful for muddy shoes, outerwear, or extra gear so the main tent stays cleaner. Portability is also good. The tent is lightweight (around 7–8 lbs depending on size) and packs into a carry bag that’s easy to stash in a car or strap onto a backpack, making it practical for short hiking trips, beach visits, or quick weekend camps. Overall, it offers very good value if you want a fast, simple shelter with decent waterproofing and a thoughtful porch design, and don’t need a heavy-duty, full-on expedition tent.

This was a great purchase for a last minute camping trip! We bought the 6 person one and there’s plenty of room. Just throw it and stake it down, done! It takes a little more work to fold it back up but once you get it, it goes down quick and exactly how it came! Our friends all want one now. 5/5

I got the 4 man tent. It is very easy to set up…which is the whole purpose of getting this kind of a tent. The question is pack down. Admittedly, the written instructions are not the best, but if you watch the video…in no time you will have no problem packing it up. The only thing I wish it had was an inner hook to hang a small light on. Not a real big deal that it doesn’t. I have tried the tent in the rain and it kept me dry all night. You aren’t going use this tent on a backpacking trip. The tent is more for a short hike or car camping which is most of what I do. Quality is pretty good. I did notice a couple of loose threads so I will have to keep an eye on that. But all things being equal m, I really do like the tent.

I would give five stars for the easy set up, but quite honestly packing this tent up was the biggest nightmare even with my seven-year-old Grandaughter trying to help me. I watched the video several times finally did it !but I seriously doubt if all use it again … unless I have two adults to assist.

Honestly. Don't buy a tent other than this one. I took it to a music festival, opened the bag and my tent was set up. No poles. No messing around. Set up instantly.

When a massive storm rolled in that night. I stayed dry and it was so good, I got interviewed by someone at the festival and I mentioned the tent. It's spacious.
If times get rough, I could live in one of those suckers.

Putting it away was not intuitive. But it longs to stay up. Don't take me down it said as I put it back into the bag. So I wrapped a chord around it and threw it into the van.

    Till next time old friend.

Extremely poor design for the windows

Definitely pops up really easily, seems to be made out of good material. First night we used it. There was a downpour & it didn’t leak.
Giant negative is the fact that you cannot control the windows from the inside. You have to go outside, unzip the window and roll it up put it in place. So this is a huge issue one you can’t control how high you unzip the window because it doesn’t work like that so people can look inside your tent whenever they want to, and if it starts to rain, you have to run outside to close the windows. Also not as easy as it looks to roll it back up to fit it into the back! Four you tube videos later & it still won’t go back into the bag.
